The cafe tends to get quite busy on weekends, which is typical for all of Warrandyte, but we’ve never had to wait long for our food and coffee. The efficiency of their service is impressive, allowing us to enjoy our meals without much delay. One of the standout features of River View Cafe is their huge display cabinet filled with a variety of ready-made options, including sandwiches, pies, bagels, and more. It’s always a treat to browse through the selection. I particularly love their chicken focaccias; they are absolutely delicious and a must-try! Additionally, the coffee here is consistently good, making it a great spot to grab a quick caffeine fix. The staff at River View Cafe have always been friendly and welcoming - they even remember our coffee order - which adds to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Whether we’re stopping by for breakfast or lunch, the combination of great food, friendly service, and the beautiful riverside setting makes every visit worthwhile. “ They have so many options to choose from. We tried the lamb and beef pie, spinach and lamb pita. Turmeric latte was very sweet, that I didn’t like. Ice latte was ok. The pistachio raspberry croissant was nice and fresh. They have ice cream as well which I didn’t try. In general a good spot with a nice walk across the road alongside the river. It was vary busy but they were relatively quick with the service. ”
“ Great place to eat if you like to go with your dog!! Big space indoors and a little area out front. Very quiet today (monday) kid friendly as well. Very clean. Huge selection of ready to eat snacks, sweets, ice creamand bakery goods. Across from a great walking path, which is dog friendly. Highly recommend. I had a pie, and it was very good, we also had a lime milk shake and gosh that hit the spot. We sat outside in the sun, which was amazing but got a bit hot, then all of a sudden a hidden pagolla spred out to cover up. An absolute hidden gem. ”

“ Excellent service, your order is almost ready as you order it.The staff being mainly Jackie, Nicky,Tony or Sam. Are family and the staff they employ are really lovely young people. The coffee and food is always fresh and excellent. My wife and I have been all over Australia and have never tasted better coffee anywhere else. We can not recommend Georges highly enough. We and the locals have known the cafe as Georges since George and Claudia opened it about 40 years ago. Keep up the good work guys Frank Cahill ”
